Things you should know before coming to Uni...

This is just my advice on things you should do or know before coming to University.

1.Be Social

There are loads of Facebook chat rooms and pages for Universities/ freshers/ blocks/ courses and even for your flat. I managed to find two out of the other 5 of my flat mates before i came to uni. *Shout out to you Courts and Emma* and it felt like i was moving in with friends when the time came.
-Little did i know joining those chats i would find my flat mates, and my best friend- aww.

2. SAVE SAVE SAVE

For those of you who will receive more from your student loan i would advise you NOT to spend it all. Also, there is a delay between your first few weeks at Uni and your student loaning coming into your bank account. SO, if you want to enjoy freshers properly i would advise taking around £200 of your own money before starting.

3.  Money for freshers

As mentioned before, bring money for freshers and your first few weeks at uni.
However, i made the decision not to buy the wrist band for all free club entries and Que jumps. It is best to be social and find friends before you come so you can all decide whether or not to buy the wristbands. We decided not to at first but bought them when we got there for £40.
*Side note- some of your classes may begin in freshers week- not everyone will have a full week off just to party👀

4. PROTECT YOUR STUFF

This may seem ridiculous but watch your stuff. There has been many times in our flat where a certain someone *cough* *cough* you know who you are... would steal cutlery, bowls, plates and food.
Just make sure to stand your ground, if they use your stuff, make sure you get it back.

5.Do not bring everything you own!

I was lucky enough to have been bought all my cutlery, bowls, plates etc. However, you do not need 4 glasses, 7 of your favourite mugs, 4 plates and bowls. Realistically you need 2 of each.
Bringing all your clothes and bits and bobs means less space to live because the rooms are not that big. Also, more stuff to move out.
When you move in the reps help you with your stuff, but moving out it might just be you so pack wisely.

This was my room before i put any of my stuff into it.
It became known as a 'prison' because of how generic it was. but you can see how little space you have.

My last tip before coming to university is to be brave. Join all the societies and clubs you want to because it's a way to find friends. Also, don't be afraid to say yes to things AND to say no when you feel uncomfortable.

Most of all have fun Freshers!
