The Isolation Diaries

It has now been over a month since Boris announced that Britain will go into lockdown, and a month since i wrote my blog post What being Quarantined has taught me. In retrospect, that blog post should have been written once lockdown was over, however, in fairness i don't think may people expected this lockdown to go on longer than a week.

We are now on week 6 and wow, so much has changed since i wrote my first post within week 1.

I thought it would be interesting to document what i have experienced over these past few weeks to reflect back on in years to come, when we think of 2020- the year the world stopped and we went into lockdown.

So, what have i been doing these past 6 weeks?

In short, nothing.

But that isn't exactly true. I've started yoga, baked, read, created MULTIPLE tiktoks, gone on walks in nature, facetimed my family, clapped for the NHS every Thursday at 8pm and celebrated my 22nd birthday.

I've felt all the emotions;
- Angry that not everyone is taking lockdown seriously.
- Frustrated and felt like i just want my life back to see friends and family.
- Confused as to when this lockdown will lift and when life will resume. Also, how life will resume? Will things go back to normal or will we all face a new normal?
- Grateful that i'm able to stay at home and not worry financially, grateful i'm not isolating alone, grateful i've had no stresses during quarantine.
- Content that even when everything has been taken away (work, socialisation, freedom), that i am still happy.

Overall, i wanted to document that the past 6 weeks have been equally tough but easy. Mentally tough at times, but easy in the respect that all i have to do is STAY HOME. I wish others were taking that message more seriously so this lockdown could end sooner.

I hope everyone is keeping safe and finding some positivity during these 'uncertain times' -i swear if i hear one more person say that i will actually scream haha.
